In January 1994, Victoria Crosby was named Glen Cove’s poet laureate, an honorary position, bestowed on her by then Glen Cove Mayor Tom Suozzi. Over the past twenty-five years she has written and read poems for many organizations and individuals in the community.
A collection of those poems PoeticVic-CivicPoet, 1994-2019, is now in the process of being published, and members of the community have the opportunity to become patrons of the arts by helping to underwrite the cost of printing.
These books will be distributed at no charge to all who donate, and to the organizations and individuals mentioned in the collection, or their families in the case of those deceased.
The names of those who donate will be listed in the book, which be available in April, Poetry Month.
Checks may be made out to the Glen Cove Arts Council, a non-profit 5013c charity, marked for the poetry book, and mailed to GCAC PO Box 27 Glen Cove NY 11542
Or you can donate via Paypal using this link
The donation categories are as follows; Angel $1,000 and above, Art Patrons $500 and above, Sponsor $300 and above, Donor $200 and above, Friend $100 -$200. All donations are gratefully welcomed, and must be received by March 25, 2019 in order for names to be included in the book. Any excess funds raised over the cost of printing, will be used for GCAC’s mission, which is to bring the arts to the underserved local population, especially youth.
